rhagho, While admittedly, I've never used the receiver for anything but towing, but have witnessed it many times. It's quite common around here, as is towing "doubles"! I contend that with good frame, good reciever, and good attachments ( cargo box, generator,bike rack, ect.), there should be "no" issue! Provided of course, that the operator does a proper job of securing the load. Just part of the job, like, checking tires, brakes, hitch/pin connection, ect.
