BEST PLACE TO CHECK FOR LEVEL

So I got one of those levels that mount on the king pin box. First step in the instructions is to make sure the 5er is level. My question is what is the best place to check for level side to side? Front to back? I've been using a torpedo level on the back bumper but I thinks there has been times when that has registered as level but once inside we have had say the shower door want to swing open or the water in the sink seems to settle to one side or another.

  • If you cook frequently then put the level on top of the range. Then liquids (and eggs) will stay in the center of the skillet instead of running to one side. Otherwise it really does not matter that much.

  • Put the levels on the front and back and adjust each separately. Remember, the frame twists.
  • I vote for long level in mid floor for front to back and on rear bumper for side to side. It's nust not that much of a deal really. When I set mine up I went with fridge level which after all is most important.
  • Putting that large level on the pin box you can see when your level or not be fore you unhook. As you are now trying to determine the best way for level Before mounting, do your best to determine whet level is, and go from there. In time you'll be able to walk inside and say we are not level. I do it some time now. I camp with a group that PULLS out there levels and checks this and that, and some time they can't find there level. Nuff said

When I installed my levels I set my level on the kitchen floor which is close to the center of the trailer. Came out very level this way in my case.
  • I use a four foot level on my rear bumper and once level I'll check again on the kitchen floor, for side to side. I have mounted a small level for front to back level by the switch for the landing gear. To level I again used the six foot level on the kitchen floor, island counter top and checked again on bottom of slides. Once I was happy, I mounted the level.
