GMC diesel with the Allison will give you the best downhill performance (braking, holding you speed, etc,) and be as good as any of TTC others going uphill.
We have traveled all over Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming with our Chevrolet Duramax/Allison and agree with the post above. We just got back from Petit Jean Mountain in Arkansas and came down the "steep side"--short but steep. No sweat! Over Monarch many times, Wolf Creek several times, Raton a breeze, Vail on the freeway, etc.
I can't make a comparison, as I have not tried any of the others, and feel no need to do so.
