I will jump in with my personal experiance. All three makes, Ford GMC, Dodge, will provide adequate towing where you want to go. That said, my perferance would be with the RAM! I have a 2006, which I would not consider a modern TV, also I have not towed with it out west! That being said, with a stock cummins, I can set the cruise control, and within 5 mph go up or down any mountian in the east without touching either the gas or brake! No engine brake, just stock! The model years you are considering are light years ahead of what I own, yes the ASIN tranny is probably the best available in a pickup, ahead of the alison! The cummins track record is untouchable, see pro lems with the "Ford" engines in the past 10 years! Add that the fit, finish! and features of the RAM are equal to or better than eithero Ford or GMC! Check them all, drive them, compare the records on lines and anywhere else, and make your own decision! Good luck!
