To gain clearance you lower the Pin Box, or Raise the Hitch. Are you wanting more bed clearance? I am sure that is what you are asking about, if so either way works. If you have an extended pin box raising the hitch will help with inside bed rail, and back of pin box problems. If you have a cover on your truck watch about raising your hitch so much it hits the cover.
