Bicycle Rack on 5th wheel rear 2'' hitch

You need a heavy bumper mounted to frame and it will work
I made my own to carry my generator and other things and after 5 years no problems at all.

I use a 2" receiver adapter for the bumper. Swagman on this particular trailer.

I then use a Saris two bike bike rack. It also has a built in anti rattle tensioner that actually works.

I bought this bike rack to haul bikes in all conditions and putting on the RV came second.

Don't buy racks that hang bikes. Don't buy racks that grab the frame or require straps of any kind.

To the best of my knowledge all mainstream non RV related bike racks have a disclaimer about using them on an RV. It's to cover their asses.

Our bikes don't bounce even on the roughest roads. Your results may vary.

I will add to all of posts .Remember you are adding perhaps 200 lb to the extreme rear an this weight will increase trailers tendency to get in a dangerous whipping back an forth which is very dangerous.This is especally true for a pull behind trailer.

IMHO this is the best overall way to go. If you have the same TrailAir pin box it's a easy hitch to make.

I went with the kind where they bikes that sit in the holder rather than the one that hangs the bike. I thought there would be less movement this way since the bikes were being held close to the bumper.

Have a Swagman rack and still lost a bike off the back of the RV. I went with a front mounted truck receiver and carry the bikes on the front of the truck now. Was followed by a friend in his rig when I lost the bike. He stopped and picked it up for me and told me how much the bikes were bouncing around. He said they were really flailing around back there.

All that bouncing around on the back of the trailer will bend the bike rack with the potential of braking off. I have had mine on the back of the trailer for many trips, always supported with adjustable straps. I did not use the straps on one trip and when I pulled over at a rest stop I noticed the bikes were sitting at a strange angle. The bike rack receiver area was bending from the constant whipping motion on the back of the trailer from the constant bouncing, construction areas are the worst of course. If you do decide to put your bikes back there use tie straps to support those bikes and keep them from bouncing around. I do not carry mine back there any more.
