Black Plastic Cone for Wheel Hub

One of the black plastic cones (I think they are just decoration) that goes on the hub of the wheel on my trailer cracked and I need to replace it. Does anyone know, first what they are called, and second, can one be ordered on line without having to go to the dealer? It is a long way to the dealers, and if I can order one, I can put it on myself. I guess if I knew what it is called, I could search on line myself.

Thanks

  • Tossed mine too. Easier to get an accurate reading on the bearing temps.
  • My TH had chrome ones that rusted - I tossed them.

My pup had plastic ones that cracked - I tossed them.

    No regrets with either.
  • I leave mine off as well. Much easier to monitor bearing temperatures.
  • I always throw those away the first time I have the wheels off. They serve no useful purpose.
  • My 5th wheel came with white hub covers, but they old and one soon cracked and broke. I pulled the rest of them off and thought about getting some new ones to replace them, but then I thought better of it. Without the hub covers, it may look a little uglier, but at each stop, I can take my laser temperature gun and get a reading on the hub temperatures. That way, I can tell if one of the hubs is running too hot or if all of them are in the somewhat same temperature range. IMHO, I would rather run without the hub covers.
  • They are called hub covers. Here's an on-line link for a good supply. They are very inexpensive, so you might consider replacing all of them so they match.
