black plastic waste pipe

Three inch plastic waste pipe , is there a way to unglue it or must you cut and start over ?
The valves can you buy a rebuild kit ?
  • There is a tool to cut old pipe out of a ABS fitting. Don't think you want to spend that much $$$.

If you have a bad glued in valve simply buy the same open it up and remove the center slide portion and seals and install in old valve.
  • You can not unglue, You can however cut it and use no hub clamps from your local Home Depot or Lowes. I did this with mine so I could replace the 3" waste valve. Just make sure you cut it straight as possible.
  • My rig has a flexible 3 inch rubber connector between the 3 inch plastic pieces. Had to replace both of them just after I bought it (The old story... we never used the toilet or the shower) Yeah right. Anyway, each piece is a standard household connector readily available. They come with two screw clamps and are easy to install.
  • If you just need a valve, no cutting is required.
Simply buy a new valve, unscrew the 4 small bolts and slide the new valve portion in. You'll end up with extra pipe connections that you don't use.

You need something like this: 3" valve
  • Home Depot sells "Socket Saver" 3" for $13.22
Menards sells "Saver Reamer" 3" for $8.99
Just in case you need one.
  • I have never seen or heard of a glue in waste valve before?

Mine have always been the undo the four bolts and slip the new one in there. :h

    Something new every day.

That's what I was trying to get them to do in my post. People are hung up on replacing the pipe flanges, which of course is totally unnecessary.
