With a 3/4 ton truck, you will be up against the trucks GVWR or maybe over it. I'd look for a 1 ton SRW.
My preference is for a long bed or an 8' bed on the truck and then you do not have to worry with a slider hitch or getting dings in the corners of the cab or popping out the rear window.
You will see lots of 3/4 ton trucks with larger trailers and with air springs on them to prop up the rear end. The bags are a crutch and do nothing to increase the trucks rated capacity.
Since you are just now looking for a truck, you might as well get the right one to start with.
It would be a good idea to have an independent diesel shop check the truck over and give you a list of what it may need. Make sure the seller has the service records for the truck.
