Thanks everyone for the insights and opinions..
As I looked around over the last couple days and checked tow ratings etc I realized
that even a Super Duty F250 with the 5.4 wasn't a great choice..
This is what I bought..
2002 Ford F350 Super Duty V10 4x4 supercab..
I bought it at a reputable local dealer, and they had just put it through the service
shop where it got upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends, front and rear brakes (including rotors,
backing plates, pads and the entire ebrake cable assembly). Also all 4 tires, a new tailgate latch
and a complete exhaust from the manifolds back.
Truck looks great and drives great.. tons of torque. Paid $7900 for it
which is where I wanted to be.. right around $8000. Wanted to pay cash for a truck
as I just financed the trailer and $8k-ish is what I could spend.

I'm having a Reese 16K slider installed Sunday using thier Ford frame brackets, not a universal kit.
I pick up the 5th wheel Monday afternoon.. then we hit the road to Lime Rock Park
in CT for the vintage race festival on Wednesday morning..
Such a huge change from the Coleman Caravan ~
