I would imagine that the brakes have their own dedicated battery pack like utility trailers. If my house battery is dead or removed or turned off the brakes should still work if the entire unit becomes disconnected somehow, correct?
This should be easy to test by disconnecting the battery and TV plug, pull the plastic key and do a pull test.
