I just wanted to bring up the fact that BOTH Anderson and B&W Hitches are built in the USA, so both have that going for them.
I'm not entirely sure how the press test shows UA that it is better than the B&W. The B&W is massive structure and I would have no doubt it could support the same weight. Also at those weights the pickup wouldn't last much longer, Can you imagine 50K+ lbs in the bed of your truck... and pressing down isn't the be all in towing. Forward back, holding the pin or ball is really what is important. Lateral and dynamic stresses. What good is a hitch if the coupler fails? This would be a better example to show the public.
I have a B&W and I do enjoy the way it works with the exception of the way the jaws lock and unlock, I wish they worked more like a semi 5th wheel, lock open and then lock closed once the pin hits the jaws. Company wise B&W has been awesome to work with be it questions or replacement parts. Others would be hard to impress me more then they have.
I do see the Anderson having the weight factor in its favor.
B&W has the advantage of being a very classic design and not having special couplers, or adapters needed for anyone to haul your RV and or you to hauls others.
I would love to see how both hitches perform in accidents and rollovers.
If I was buying today the Anderson looks too light weight for the task compared to others but the press test does show its not weak, and the B&W even in 2 pieces is a beast. So it is hard to say which way I would go.
