To those that say they have no chucking with the Andersen, either used nothing before and wouldn't have it with a B&W, Reese or Curt.
I get no chucking with my Andersen but did with the Curt that I had previously. Same truck and trailer - only difference was the hitch.
To the prior trolly assertion by Cummins that the Andersen's "ONLY" advantage is installation and removal, I'd submit the following:
- Easy hitching/unhitching at an angle
- Travels better over uneven terrain than most 5th wheel hitches
- No chance of dropping trailer on truck (no tug test needed)
- Zero grease/lubrication ever required
- More affordable
- Made in Idaho (I like local)
I'm not saying it's better, but there are multiple factors to consider beyond ease of installation and removal.
"No chance of dropping trailer on truck"
Not true because I did it and I had the smashed tailgate to prove it. You definitely can high hitch a B & W Companion so I would highly recommend you still do a pull test. The only time I got in a hurry and skipped it I paid for it.
