High hitch or hi pin as the trucking industry calls it.....same thing...the pin sits on top of the jaws with the jaws closed which any hitch can do under certain conditions when hooking up, even OTR heavy hitches like a SAF Holland....Fontaine/etc. The driver hears the jaws slam home...however a visual is the only way to make sure the jaws slammed home around the pin.
RV hitches (light weight hitches) like Curt/Reese/B&W/PullRite/etc are no different than the big rig hitches.
