We full-time in the winter with a 1/2 ton towable Cougar that we pull with a 2500 Ram. It absolutely is possible. Ours is a 30 ft rear kitchen and very comfortable. I like that it fits into most any campground, State and Federal as well as boon docking and conventional private campgrounds. Our Cougar has held up well for three years and we plan to keep it for another three or four years. After that, we would probably get a newer cougar.
Over the years we've had a Holiday Rambler, Jayco, Wilderness, Funfinder, Arctic Fox and our present Cougar. The 97 Jayco and 2006 Alumascape and our Cougar were the best 5th wheels so far. The Funfinder (a travel trailer) was the worse.
