When we brought our new Montana home the first thing that broke was the mount for the the shock, the wood is soft and the six screws just sort of fell out. My solution and it has lasted for over a year now was a product by System Three called GelMagic a non sagging epoxy adhesive. I took all the shock mounts off mixed up a batch of epoxy and was able to use the screws to hold them in place until the epoxy cured.
Now this stuff is expensive I just happen to be in the middle of building a sail boat and had some on hand. I'm sure that there are other epoxy based adhesives that would work just fine for less money.
