I think with that new of tire, it was likely a damage issue. If it was just a typical no name China bomb, possible failure? Carlisle has been building a reputation, using their newer design.
I agree on replacing with another Carlisle, unless tire shop can say tire failure due to manufacturing quality issue. There are many STs on the road, and IMO, they get a bad rap, when most tires get hot and fail, due to rapid air loss (road damage), or under inflated to begin with.
