There's nothing that anybody, to include any tire shop "expert", could tell me that would convince me to stay with any brand of E-rated ST tire after a failure like that.
Even though the 235/80/16 E-rated Westlakes (MIC) on our new toy hauler had a decent reputation, I still went ahead and replaced them with all-steel, G-rated 235/85/16's before our Aug-Oct 5,000 mi. cross-country trip. I never gave these all-steel, G-rated tires a second-thought during the whole trip.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but, to my knowledge there hasn't been any reported failures of any all-steel, G-rated tires made by Sailun, Gladiator, etc.
Unfortunately, many RV's with 15" rims don't have the clearance to go any bigger.
