The Carlisle tires came very highly recommended and I did lots of research on them. I was on the interstate when the tire blew apart and it was the right rear that let go. It was an "E" rated tire at 80 psi. I had just checked them before I left Silver City, New Mexico. The other three still look ok but I am thinking I should really have a matching set...am I wrong, especially if I can no longer get the Carlisles. Since there was no center of the tire left, it was hard to determine if I did hit a road hazard or it just came apart. All that remained was about two inches of rubber sidewall still attached to the rim. Thanks for the replies.
