Carriage Compass

Looking at a Carriage Compass. As I understand it Carriage is considered somewhere in the very subjective upper end. Any comments on the Compass model would be appreciated.

Thanks

Bob
  • Carriage only made the Compass for a few years. It was a lower priced unit and by the time customers added options it was about the same price as their Cameo model. For the price it was a well-built unit.

Carriage went out of business in 2011. Many of the employees moved over to a new company called Lifestyle.

  • I own a 2006 Carriage Compass that I bought brand new in 2006. Mine did not come with the wet bolt kit on the suspension . It had the plastic bushing that were gone at 14,000 miles. So I had the wet bolt kit installed on the leaf spring shackles. Other then that I have not had a complaint on my Compass. It is well built, came with a king size bed, built in vacumn system, neverlube sealed wheel bearings. Like said in a previous post . They stopped making the Compass because the Cameo was just like it. Did not make any sense to make two models that were the same except for the name.
  • I had a 2006 Compass as well and yes there was a difference in the two, for one thing the Compass has a lot more wood in it than the Cameo and the siding is different as well.
  • Not an exact match but here's a good Cameo deal...

  • I bought a used 2006 Compass 33CKQ in 2008 and it has been a great trailer. I upgraded to 17.5" tires and rims to get away from 16" tires but other than that I have had zero issues with the Compass.

  • Have some good friends that bought used compass. They like it, and have pulled it over a lot of miles. If its clean I would not be afraid of it.
