Carriage Compass TT -- Hickory Springs Steps -- Broken

I have a 2005 32 FKS Carriage Compass Travel Trailer with a Hickory Springs Steps -- Three treads 24 inches wide.

The left side (as you are entering the trailer) bracket has broken. See the photo. I am not sure if this is part of the stairs or part of the trailer.

Since Carriage is out of business, where can I get a replacement?
  • have one fabricated where you are.

The closest I can find are
    https://www.etrailer.com/enclosed-trailer-parts/stromberg-carlson/sm-01.html
  • I would remove the rusted bolt and fabricate a rectangular "washer" to fill that area in and have it overlap a larger area of that flange. Then install a stainless bolt.
Or, simply drill another hole farther up and install a new bolt.
  • if you can get it out of there
weld in a piece of angle iron from the hardware store, to cover the bad spot, then drill a hole
put it back using stainless nuts and bolts
  • AS Scott suggested.....

Just drill a new hole and bot it back up.......DONE!
