I don't know your situation but I hate seeing people borrow money for RV's or vehicles. They depreciate so fast that by the time you get it paid for it won't be worth anything. Once you start down that road you might never get out of debt. If you happen to have the cash, buy a diesel 1 ton SRW for that RV. I use a short box without a sliding hitch and have never had a problem. I need to be mindful of the trailer when I am turning sharp while backing up. If you don't have cash, a newer 3/4 ton gas engined truck might handle it just fine. The payload of the truck needs to large enough to handle the hitch weight of the 5'ver. So take the GVWR of the truck and and subtract the weight of the truck, passengers, 5th wheel hitch, and all other cargo including fuel to see what the truck you're considering can handle for pin weight (hitch weight).
