- retired4fun2002ExplorerHave the Cobra with Weather Channels, priceless. Like others, keep on 19 and low, but when severe weather is out there, it makes a loud shrill, and we tune in. Safe travels.
- rockhound007ExplorerI think we should all go back to the old way and start pushing 13 for the rver's! I've been thinking of getting another, that's why the question. Over.
Lol - jack0351ExplorerI miss CBs...
Sounds like several people agree, RV'rs use channel 13. Now make it so!
When I get the new truck, I'll mount the CB, and "have my ears on" for you all. - rattleNsmokeExplorerI always use the CB on channel 19. If anything it does a great job giving info on traffic jams, lane changing and alternate routes. Came in handy navigating around DC last summer on our way back from Fla.
- Traveler_IIExplorerJust at a sign company in our home town. I made come clips and hung in on the latter. I could take it off if I needed to use the latter.
- MarkTwainExplorerI don’t have a CB now, but when we first retired I had one. Channel 19, the truckers channel can have some interesting language. I had read that Channel 13 was for RVers. Didn’t have much luck with it until I put a sign on the back of our MH that we were monitoring channel 13.
Where did you get your sign made??? - Traveler_IIExplorerI don’t have a CB now, but when we first retired I had one. Channel 19, the truckers channel can have some interesting language. I had read that Channel 13 was for RVers. Didn’t have much luck with it until I put a sign on the back of our MH that we were monitoring channel 13. Got some calls, but more important was the good info we did get; places to see, good places to eat that were RV friendly, and the best place to get fuel. Even some truckers would call us on 13. The sign helped.
- fishingbob61ExplorerI still have my old 23channel mounted in TV. I use 19 and 13, in the old days 13 was the RV channel. But yes it is always ON.
- HelmseyExplorerI have one and monitor 19 and 13. I was told a long time ago 13 was the "good sam" channel. I have never heard anyone talk on 13...
- Me_AgainExplorer IIIWe have had one in the truck for years. Seldom turn it on except to check on traffic problems or to park. DW takes a handheld CB when we park in a tight spot. Works much better than FRS walkie talkies. Speeding ticket concerns should not be an issue with a 5th wheel trailer in tow if you are towing safely.
