Cedar Creek quiet air conditioner

I am looking at buying a left over new 2014 SilverBack 31RK. It does not have the new whisper quiet a/c unit. Some 2015 and 2016 SilverBacks have the quiet a/c unit. The Cedar Creeks have had them for some time. My question is are these new a/c units significantly quieter than the old system. We currently have a CrossRoads Kingston and the a/c is so loud when it cycles on you can't hear the television unless it is turned up significantly.
  • Thanks for the responses we decided to go with the fully ducted system. Worked out a deal on 2016 Silverback 31RK. We are picking it up tomorrow and heading to Myrtle Beach.
  • Our 2013 Cedar Creek has the ducted AC and there is a significant reduction in sound. We also have a smaller, standard AC in the bedroom. The difference in volume between the two is amazing. At night, I make sure that the bedroom AC is set so that it doesn't come on and wake me up. I can't even hear the living room AC from the bedroom.
  • Our A/C is pre "quiet" edition and overall it's not too bad even on high and quick cool. Sits right in middle of coach in main area (kit/LR/dinette). Don't have to shout or have tv volume up too loud. At night, we switch it over to low and have air run thru duct work. Course being up front, don't hear it that much and kids have never complained as it's right on top of them so to speak or in front of door to BH.
  • I wish mine had that. I have to crank the TV every time the AC turns on then the wife says the neighbors are going to complain from all the booming from the sub woofer. :)
  • I am sitting in my Dads 2015 Silverback right now and I must say "definitely quiet" as the air conditioner is barly heard. It is a completely ducted system which you do not or cannot dump air directly from the unit.
    But yes quiet, very quiet.
  • Moving a lot of air makes noise. I think they are referring to compressor noise, not the air noise your getting now.
