Ceramic - VS - Semi Metallic

This has been debated many times on this, and other forums. With many upgrading their fivers to discs, it may be a good read if your unsure of the differences.

Is the article correct, ?? who knows, you decide :B

I already know which way I go, enjoy your read...

Ceramic - Semi Metallic
  • When converting to Kodiak disc brakes, is it better to go with the slip on rotor type, or the integral hub/rotor.
I read somewhere that the slip on rotor was for surge brakes only.
    Thanks

For what application and what product?

So are you saying the EBC Yellow #DP41240R are a direct replacement for the NAPA UP-7136-M? I realize my 08 DVR with 8K axles is a lot older then yours but also looking for more braking power.

YES that is the same NAPA number I ran on my 07.5 MS and installed within a couple months on my current 16 MS. Originally the NAPA pads were US Made but now are Mexico.

The EBC says right on the box Buick Century.

Here's the Timken bearing numbers 25580 and 02475.

If a person wants to go to Oil Bath on the newer Kodiak 8k system as I did this is the PROPER seal for doing so that does NOT leak. National 370219A

I run EBC on my Harley, they are aWESOME!

I upgraded my 01 RAM Sport to the Orange HD Towing EBC's and the difference is incredible.

I changed to the same Orange on the front of my 15 DRW RAM, The difference is incredible. They did not have rears in stock at the time. when I get to my home base rears will go on. I am sure the difference will be even more dramatic.

ALL EBC products are expensive and WELL worth it based on my personal experiences.

  • To be clear the AWESOME pads are the EBC Yellow. The NAPA semi metallic were better than what Kodiak “ceramic” supplied for sure but these EBC are far better.

And thanks again for the pads!

    Ceramic = NoBueno!

The ones that say Ceramic look closely they state "Ceramic like" as in low dust.

These are expensive but i can tell you from personal experience they are AWESOME!!! 1,300 miles on mine, RV has never stopped better comparing to stock Kodiak pads or NAPA's best Semi Metallic.

EBC Yellow #DP41240R These are the ones that fit MORryde 8k IS System or Kodiak 8K disk system.
