When we go to Yellowstone/Fishing Bridge, we always go from Cheyenne to Casper and then take 20 to Thermopolis. Very scenic drive through the Wind River Canyon. From Thermopolis, take 120 to Cody. Once off I-25 the roads are all very well maintained 2 lane highways. We always overnight in Cody to arrive at Fishing Bridge early and enjoy the Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody. Sure, you'll have to go over the pass to get there, but it's not nearly as bad as most make it out to be. Thousands of cars and RV's travel that route every day into Yellowstone.
