Well the other day while shopping for 5th wheels they were showing me the hitch attached to the trailer with these white rubber bushing & saying this helps for something like 500-800?

Seriously, have nothing of the sort w/ our B&W Patriot.

Most chucking, if not all, can be prevented by moving the center of hitch forward of the axle. With short bed trucks, the tendency is to mount the fifthwheel directly on or behind the center axle. I have never experienced chucking in my own trucks. I have installed all my hitches 1"-2" forward of rear axle. I will never own a truck to pull a fifthwheel with a short bed.

Have the trailer brakes adjusted, with the brake controller, to come on with and slightly more aggressively than the truck brakes. It is the pin pushing forward as you brake that causes the worse chucking.

Basically, keep the pin back against the jaw,instead of slamming forward and you avoid the chuck.

Dampeners, and air pins etc may help and are expensive but do not salve the basic problem which is bad trailer brake adjustment.

Did you read the OP’s last statement?

#1. Pin weight at least 20% of 5er weight more likely about 22%.

#2. 5er towing level, the puts equal weight on both axles.

#3. Shocks, good ones on the 5er, great ones on the TV. You will feel the rough ride of a 5er in the TV.

First you have to know what is making your combo have chucking.
A truck/GN or 5th wheel trailer can have chucking for several reason regardless of hitch brands. And even some have had the issue with a air ride type hitch.
Now having said that.... a individual may do something to fix one of the many reasons for a combo to have chucking problems and it may work for his combo.
My point is what works for Bobs combo usually doesn't work for Joe's combo.
