DO NOT dump a freakin' gallon of undiluted bleach in your system!! That is wayyyy too much and will be a bi*ch to dilute. That's just insane. Do a search and you'll see the approx. formula for bleaching out the hot water system. From memory, it's roughly 1/3 cup of bleach per every 15 gals of fresh water held. That's plenty. You are not trying to shock a freakin' swimming pool.
