DO NOT dump a freakin' gallon of undiluted bleach in your system!! That is wayyyy too much and will be a bi*ch to dilute. That's just insane. Do a search and you'll see the approx. formula for bleaching out the hot water system. From memory, it's roughly 1/3 cup of bleach per every 15 gals of fresh water held. That's plenty. You are not trying to shock a freakin' swimming pool.
I have put as much as 1/2 gallon in in the spring, and pump it through the system, it sites for a couple days, I run the taps and toilet and pump it all into the waste tanks, fill and dump a full tank, then fill again and after that its no stronger than city water.
never thought of the air hose trick, gonna have to try that to agitate, my compressor is not far from where I store my rig, 50 foot of hose should get there no prob, that will save the time taking it for a drive
just a thought on that for anyone else gonna try it, I would use a good pneumatic filter and make sure the air has a 0.0 oil content, as some older compressors can leak lubricant and emit a small amount of vapourized oil, one or 2 drops could ruin the tank for potable water
thinking about it a shop vac can be used as a bubbler, again clean it out first
