Columbus 320RS

We fell in love with this 5er at our local rv show. Would like to here from owners and their opinions on the Columbus. Thanks Craig
  • Neighbor just came home with one a month ago. He says he loves it, but is still waiting for parts for all the flaws from the factory. I looked at one at camping world the other day. WOW was it dark inside. Not to my liking for sure. But that's why they make so many brands.
  • Our neighbor has a new Columbus and it has been very poor. Of course poor is not how he decided it. He showed me why and it sucks big time. Camping world was the seller and both CW and Forest river kinda just gave them the finger so probably will be a lawyer deal next. The lady wanted it because it was pretty.

  • Well we have a 2014 Columbus 295RL (about 35' - 4 feet shorter than 320). We have had it 9 months. I have had only a few very minor issues that were all fixed without us leaving it at dealer. I have looked under the cabinets and in the storage bays and other areas not easy to see. This is our 5th RV and I believe this one is the best constructed. There have been a few threads asking about Columbus fivers recently. Try a search on Columbus in this forum and you should have some reading to do. Also, go to the Forest River Owners forums and read in the Palomino thread (for Columbus and Sabre). I think you will find that most owners have had good experiences. I certainly don't doubt there are a few bad, because that is the nature of the beast with mass production. U suggest you take a good long look at any fiver you plan to buy. Look at areas that are harder to see but can tell a lot. Look in the front storage bays at the wiring and plumbing. By all means check the caulking on the entire unit. You can buy an additional year of factory warranty for $150, which gives you 2 full years to work out problems. Good luck. All I can tell you is we love ours so far.
  • There are good and there are bad.

Ours is a good one, and is on par for the money.
  • We've had our Columbus 320RS for two years. It was an early production model. The later ones have come a long way in quality. We enjoy the amenities, most which were standard. It tows great. It has served us well and it's a good looking fiver. As mentioned, you get good and bad with any RV. I don't have a problem recommending a Columbus.
  • I have had a 295RL for almost a year. There were a few minor issues, mostly cosmetic. I think the Columbus has the best looking 5th wheel out there and the bang for the buck. It has a LOT of features for the price. All RV manufactures are going to have a few bad ones built with poor quality and those are the ones you hear about. There are lots of happy owners out there and - so far I am one.
