GN type adapters are popular with folks that use them and not so popular with those that don't.
As mentioned the adapter can be hard on 5er frame at the hitch attach area. However some 5er mfg have addressed the issue and even offer them as a option. Do your home work there.
Our older hitches didn't pivot side to side and were a bitzh to get hooked when camped on uneven sites that had the truck and trailer on different angles. I've had to block/ramp the trucks wheels on one side to get hooked. The 4 way pivot is a must for me. If you RV or camp on leveled sites its not that big of a issue.
