Looking at giving up the TC for TH for the sand. Problem:Towing with a GMC 4500 4x4. Stock box height is 69". Replacing the box for flat bed is a no go wife says. So looking at triple axle 30-32' bumper pull. Problem: Needing to transport Jeep which weighs around 3500lbs. Reading that is to much weight hanging off the back end. So looking at older 5'er that is lower profile. Considering axle flip. Possibly adding 2-4" rectangular square tubing lift between frame and shackles.I know that will raise the center of gravity and possibly be stability issues. I need to keep OA height under 14'.What are the experiences from the peeps that have tried to over come this problem?

Doesn't the Work and Play bumper pull toy hauler have 4000 lb toy capacity. That might be an option for you.

Work and Play is a very nice unit. Budget is allowing around $12,000 max. I am looking at something like a 02-04 WW 3000.

13.6 is the legal max height as far as I know.

Not certain what may be available today, but there used to be specialty out of bed wheeled hitches for pulling 5th wheel trailers. These allowed people with traditional 5th wheels to load quads and UTV's on the truck.

Yes, I have thought of that. Wondering how would handle in the sand w/o much weight on the back of the tow.

Pick up an enclosed trailer and turn it into a man cave. Get one 24-28' long and you can throw in a real recliner with a flat panel TV and a base board heater while still fitting your Jeep and spare parts. If you want to spend more, toss an A/C on the roof and have a couple of windows cut out.

I haul extra water, fuel and LPG in my trailer so I can dry camp longer than most TC's would allow. I also have a solar array in the trailer to keep the batteries up.

All that combination of nearly impossible requirements, AND a budget of only 10K to make it all happen...?? yeah... good luck with that.

Stick the truck camper and jeep on any used gooseneck trailer you can find and and feel lucky.

Why will you not tow behind your truck and TC? My enclosed trailer carries all kinds of toys.

The goose neck flat bed with camper on the front is looking pretty good. There were some pretty nice setups on the pirate4x4.com site

Truck camper on front half of a gooseneck flat bed tandem/dually or tripple/single axle trailer, with Jeep loaded on rear half of trailer, makes the most sense, financially and logistically. :)

Next best solution is get rid of dumb wife and flimsy pickup bed, put on flat bed and pull any fifth wheel you like, with no need to modify the trailer.

I haven't found a toy hauler with a garage area long enough to put a Jeep in, nor a ramp strong enough to support the weight of a Jeep, nor the floor structure to support the weight of a Jeep.
