I can't afford $600+ (tax and shipping) on 4 wheels and tires right now since (side note). I just had to pay 6k in deductible for my high deductible insurance.
But thanks for the opinion. We would love to upgrade in the future and if I was a full timer I would really consider doing it, but as it is, the more I think about it, the more think that I really need to find a cost effective alternative until funds can come up again. It's a hobby for me, not my main mode of living and transportation.
My wallet cried a long time when I made the switch from 16 to 17.5". I finally ended up spending about 1900 bucks for 4 Sumitomo tires and rims. But I was able to sell my old rims and tires for about 350 bucks on craigslist, so that helped my wallet feel better.
