converter

Needing advise on getting a new converter i have a wfco 9855 and by trouble shooting it I'm in the market for a new one....So any info would greatly be appreciated
  • handy Bob has talked a little about this. I can tell you that if you are getting a converter --charger, you need to find one that you can set to what your batteries need to reach full charge. most do not do a good job.
I have been looking Randy at bestconverter.com
he is very knowledgeable and can give good answers. my Trojan batteries need to go to 14.8 and stay there for a while
  • Last fall I replaced my WFCO 9855, which had died, with a Progressive Dynamics, I think 9260 (it's too early to run out in the dark and check)...I love it! ( I carried it as a spare for almost the whole season, as the WFCO was indicating it was going bad) I ran the charge wizard through the back of fuse box and can see it flashing through the fuse box window under the television...so I know what the battery is doing by the rate of flashes.

This converter would be my recommendation.
  • I'm reasonably sure the consensus you'll get here on the Forum will be

Progressive Dynamics & in your case, as stated above the PD-9260c

And to purchase one, call Randy @ 888.828.1893

    BEST CONVERTER

You won't have to press "1" for English or "2" for Spanish & he's a good looking fellow too.

Does the 9200 hook to shore power with a cord or do you have to hard wire it

The 9200's have a grounded male plug coming off them. You can cut it off (at the expense of your warranty) or you can do as I did and install a receptacle that is then hard wired to the main breaker.
  • Iota, PD, and Boondocker are all good converters. Talk to Randy at bestconverters.com
  • I also purchased from randy @ best converters.

you wont use that wfco brand.
  • Ordered a converter from randy at best converters today really nice folks to deal with and seems to have good priceing on his products
