Awesome! Truely awesome! Great job. I wish I lived a bit closer to see the job for myself. I'll be looking out for you if you ever decide to make it up to Canada.

You are about to see two 8 lugs in tandem. Nothing in impossable. If you use a NP-205 case backwords. You get two driveshafts faceing backwords. One for each rearend. And there is no need to leave both axles locked in all the time. So the transfur case will be in 2 wheel drive most of the time. - The only tandem drive axles I see are ten lugs

- SoCalDesertRid1Explorer IIOver in the Truck Campers section of the forum, right now there's a post with pics of an old duece-and-a-half military 6x6 truck with a motorhome body on it. Both rear axles are driven. A rear axle set from something like that would be good for your project so you don't have to re-invent the wheel trying to figure out how to couple your two Dana 80 rears.

Extra braking ability is the main benefit that I see to running tandems. Same with tripple versus tandem trailer axles.
I'm not familiar with an NV200. Is that like a Dana 21, providing 4wd driveshaft split without the low gear?
There is transfur case nv-200, nv 201, & nv 202. These cases are seperate from trany. And can be mounted backwords meaning 1 input. And 2 rear out puts.
I have seen vehicles done like you're planning for off-road use and it worked well. Do those divorced TC have a center diff? You are going to need an inter-axle diff to prevent binding the rears.
It is going to be a tag axle for now till I get a for sure game plan to geather for the drivetrain. Whatever transfur case i use will be left in 2 wheel drive. The remaining axle will onle be locked in when needed. Therfore I dont see a binding issue. I am open to any ideas that anyone might have. Thanks for asking. - DrBakerExplorerThat's awesome. Keep the pics coming.

I'm impressed.. I don't know your background but I see in your work that you are a true mechanic. There are a few left and others have been renamed with an impressive sounding "technition" handle so the garage can charge 100 bucks an hour whether or not they may just be a dumb sheet....I see old fashion creativity where off the shelf just isn't right. You be sure to post updates on your project...
Thank you.
