I know this gets touched on occasionally but I'd like to see a full discussion. I have load rating E tires. 3450 lbs at 80 psi. I run about 5000 lbs per axel. I've seen the ratio addressed: 2500/34...

You ever seen an ST actually wear out, short of bad axles/hubs? Frankly, I just can't tell a difference when I'm at 80 psi heavy or 80 psi light. I think the treads are stiff enough that you don't get a whole lot of bulge in the center and, if you do, the tires are still almost certainly going to age out before wearing out. Hell, even if you do wear the centers a bit, you're just making the contact patch that much better. :-)
