I know this gets touched on occasionally but I'd like to see a full discussion. I have load rating E tires. 3450 lbs at 80 psi. I run about 5000 lbs per axel. I've seen the ratio addressed: 2500/34...

Just like the rear tire inflation number on a pickup truck. The number is for a fully loaded truck. I run my rears at 44-46 empty for improved ride. At 75 or 80 lbs in my 265's it is handful to drive empty.

Same here, my 98 empty 45 rear 72 front. 11 Dually 45 rear 80 front empty, 60 rear with 4,500# plus pin weight.
That is why those crazy tire engineers make those silly load/inflation charts!
what happened to the 55 lbs in the rear you used to say?
