Cougar blows breaker.

My BIL has a 2013 Cougar that has an intermittent problem . He can run his A C for hours with no problem. For no apparent reason the breaker will trip at the post. He resets the breaker and it trips again. The park has new 50 amp posts and older (suspect) electric. He has had this problem on both posts. The dealer had the rig for three days with the A C running. No problem. We suspect the problem is with the 50 amp cable before the converter. But, there is nothing obvious. Any suggestions from you veterans would really be appreciated.

    Was the dealer using the same cable? If so, then it's not likely the problem. I'd suspect a problem with the park wiring or breakers.

    Loose connection.
    Does it have a removable twist lock style cord on the rig? That would be the place to check. Weight on the cord body can cause the wire to pull out of the screw connector in the cord body.

    It could also be caused by voltage sag in the park power as more loads are added to the park system. Low voltage causes higher current draw which would trip the RV breaker.

    Agree...loose connection. Could be in shore power cable. Could be inside shore power inlet on the side (had that happen). Could be connection at the automatic switch. Have to trace & check everything.

    Not hard to do but does take time.

    Yes, It has the 50 amp twist lock plug.

    What does this mean? Same old 30A wire with a new post and 50A CB???

    A properly wired 50A circuit represents A LOT of power and the 50A CB should not trip.

    It sounds like a bad and non code pedestal. Of course an intermittent short on the rig side is possible.

    Can and do you know how to safely measure the voltage across the 2 50A hot legs? should be 240V +-10%.

    Yeah, had to read on too. Why do manufacurers give such names to their models anyway? Intruder, Stalker, Challenger. Plenty of others.
