The park has new 50 amp posts and older (suspect) electric.
A properly wired 50A circuit represents A LOT of power and the 50A CB should not trip.
It sounds like a bad and non code pedestal. Of course an intermittent short on the rig side is possible.
Can and do you know how to safely measure the voltage across the 2 50A hot legs? should be 240V +-10%.
