Covering your 5th Wheel

Whats the best way to pad the corners of my 5th wheel so that my cover doesn't get ripped each year. I was thinking just towels but I was wondering if anyone had a better solution.

  • Try foam rubber,,, about a foot, foot/half square and 1-2 inches thick. Has worked for me.
  • Tough one. Been there covering my boat. Gave up on covers. The worst enemy is chafe which will rub through gelcoat in no time. Better to clean & wax before winter sets in then repeat before hitting the road in the spring.

Lucky me. Mine is stored indoors but if I did not have such a great arrangement & had the property I would at least invest in some sort of open sided frame shed.
  • Tennis balls over the drain spouts on the corners might work...
