Another vote for checking out some pin weights for the "supposedly" 1/2 ton towable 5th wheels. And don't forget to throw in a couple hundred pounds for the hitch, plus anything else you plan to carry in the truck bed.
As far as the bed, most just have 4 holes the punch thru the bed to get to the frame. They will also likely leave some scratches on the bed where the rails sit. Check with your lease holder to verify if that will be an issue.
Be wary of goose neck hitches. Many 5th wheels are NOT designed to be used with a goose neck adapter (some do design for it). Goose Neck adapters put more strain on the trailer frame. Check with the manufacturer before proceeding. A minor issue is they take a bit more accuracy to hitch up and you do need safety chains with a goose neck compared to a 5th wheel hitch.
As far as getting the hitch in and out of the truck bed. With a bobcat, it should be easy. 4 pins in the bed rails to pull and then lift it out.
I won't go into the brand debate but any major manufacturer puts out a good hitches. I've yet to see or hear of a failure that was due to a flaw in the hitch.
