Notice where all of your storage is. Way in front of the FW axles. Be aware the 17% pin weight ratio will increase once you load it. Again, I'm singing payload.
Your Cougar is 1300 lbs lighter than my Durango but the dry pin weight is the same. That could be due to my second slide behind the axles.
I pack light and take only what we will need for the trip. I refuse to have anyone in the back seats other than my 85lb mother-in-law while towing.
Thanks. Sorry, your Mother in law is not invited.
BTW, isn't it illegal to have people in the trailer while you're moving? To date I have never seen a 5th wheel trailer detached from its TV and upside down in a ditch alongside the highway...but have seen too many TT that way to ever put people in a trailer going down the highway.
Actually, in many states, including AZ, it's legal to travel in a fifth wheel, but not a travel trailer, or any other towable on a ball hitch. Here, the requirements are that there must be 2 exits, neither of which can be locked from the outside and there must be 2-way comm between the fifth wheel and the truck. Nobody said that it's smart, or comfortable (as my wife can attest to; she tried it for about 35 miles before giving up). Also, if you search here, there are at least a couple threads that show FW's rolled over, as well as YouTube. Wind is a very common denominator in FW, and semi trailer, rollovers.
