CREE Light bar Flood Spot Flood 5 Watts

OK I know theirs a lot of different ones out the but I'm not looking to spend a lot of money on the rigid light bar. So that's why I'm looking a the CREE Flood Spot Flood 5 Watts. What's your opinion on them. I'm just looking to see a little better going into some of these dirt roads at night pulling my rig. To the administrator of this site please don't move this to Tech issues. I value the thoughts of the off road community in the Toy hauler category.
  • My Ridged bar is 9 years old on my rhino, best ever. Out shines them all and is rugged. I was the first in my groups to have one.

    I stand behind my choice.
  • The best light i have I got here http://www.getlitfs.com/off rzr forums my 30 inch for 130 ish bucks.I have bought a few lights off ebay for the most part they have been good cept the bar I got for my truck its junk has water in it already yes it was cheap and it looks cool on the truck but its not gonna last.
The bar i have on the rzr is the one I got from the rzr forums it is a true cree Totron light its been getting beat up on the rzr for 3 years now and still going.
  • I buy them off Amazon. A good test for me is a 12" that has been on my mud 4 wheeler for 2yrs. It's been submerged, run into trees and has seen a lot of nighttime use. I would never buy a $200 12" light vs a $30 12" light.
  • I run the cheap Kawell cube lights on my Jeep. Not painful if damaged or stolen. Some light bars have a dual stage output. Mostly straight ahead with some floods on the ends. Wife just bought me a dual stage for Christmas. Have not connected it yet. Be sure to use fuses and relays.

I like the Rigid hardware. It does not pencil out for me.
  • I purchased a 12" LED light bar from Walmart, $46.00, for our tractor and wow is it bright. It lights up a huge area, almost like the sun is out. I agree with the other poster, not spending a ton of money on something that is apt to get damaged or stolen when a less expensive option is available.
  • I have an EBay 22" bar (double row) on my truck. Paid ~$110 for it and it drowns my headlights. Money well spent in my opinion. They are cheaper now than when I got it. It has been on my truck for about 1.5yrs and I have a tiny bit of fogging when I pressure wash the truck (I'm not careful about the light either). For what it is, it has held up very well.

This is as near as I can find to what I have on my truck.
    EBay Light Bar

A buddy of mine has a little slim single row Rigid. The light output on it is close to what my bar does, and his is shorter and narrower. The Rigid costs more, and it is a smaller bar, but the quality is definitely there.

We also did some Rigid Dually pods on a 4runner along with an Ebay bar. The Rigid pods outrun the little bar that he got.
  • I have bought a couple big light bars but they have been the cheap ones. Both have worked great for a couple years so far. One on my sxs and the other one was on my last truck. I am in the camp that refuses to pay $2000 for a f'n light bar. The other thing to consider is theft. Would you rather have a $2000 light bar disappear or a $200? The more expensive is slightly better but you will be happy with a cheap one as well. Both of mine are curved which lights up more of the ditch. Depending on your location and laws you may be required to have it covered while on the highway.
  • If it's cheap, it's not genuine Cree LEDs - they're among the most expensive (and best) you can buy.

A link to the light you're looking at would be helpful.
