Crosswinds RV tires

Anybody have any comments on Crosswind RV tires?(ST 23580R16)
I realize they are made in China like many other tires today.
Your Thoughts and comments would be appreciated.
  • For 95 and change each they have to be pretty good. Another chinese product brought to you by simple tire!

A little poking around shows the the ST235/80R16E and ST235/80R16F Crosswind both weigh in at 43 lbs and the ST235/85R16G weighs in at 46 lbs(indicating a poly sidewall).

Weight wise I put the E and F in the Maxxis arena!

ON EDIT: Simple Tire says the LRE weighs 36 pounds???? Who's right??
Another reply from Simple Tire: "Not sure, I just go by the data we got in our system. Sometimes the Chinese companies are a little off."

    Chris

Most tires are round and black! Similarity ends there!

If your looking for a cheap tire the Crosswind ST or any ST tire brand will fit your needs.

If your looking for a 50k mile tire and 7-8 years of reliable service then a LT tire in a recommended brand is a better choice.

    Others have their opinions.

That's a good way to state it Jim. I may adopt that as my sig line !

We can give you our opinions. Most will run about the same.

Some folks don't value tire opinions from this forum. So for those types IMO the best bet is do a google on Crosswind ST tires or ST tires in general and make a informed decision based on experiences from other trailer owners (RVs and non RVs) across the net.

    Amen brother!
  • Thanks for your comments, I was not trying to buy a cheap tire just wondering what every ones thoughts were on the Crosswind tires. My current Goodyear Marathons have served me well almost 20,000(Year 2007) miles and trips to Alaska, Yellowstone, Sonoma for the Savemart 300 and various trips throughout BC and Alberta and back and forth to our property on the Shuswap on many occassions, but now its time for new rubber.
  • Morley. You may have a problem repeating that kind of service(or luck) from another set. But my smaller 5th wheel ran from 1997(it was a 96 26 ft Terry) until I traded it in 2004. I think the smaller the trailer the better they do. Chris

So do you like experimenting? If you got 20,000 out of the also cheap Marathon tires, why wouldn't you go back to Goodyear? At least they stand behind the tire if they blowout.
