Crusader Queen Bed?

Does the Crusader 290RLT have an RV queen or full size queen bed? How about the Crusader 295RST?

If not a standard queen, that will eliminate a couple more models from the shopping list.

Thanks
  • 2hams,

    Did you find out?

The best I can offer is Primetime's statement in the Product Highlights Brochure, page 15 -click here, "Crusader bed slide models offer a full size Queen mattress that is 80” long."

These leaves me with the assumption that wardrobe slide models do NOT have a 60x80 bed (only bed slide models do).

I would like to know this for sure also. I am tired of my feet hanging over the end and I am shopping now.

The Grand Design Reflection 303RLS does show a 60x80 bed in the floor plan.

What models are on your shopping list?

No answer yet. I also saw the product highlight, which made me ask the question. I plan to call a local dealer tomorrow. They have a good reputation and he is 6'5" so should be sensitive to why my 6'4" DH must have a standard queen.

I've been (over) researching a new camper since last starting to look last February. We want to stay under 35' and under 12K GVWR. Also must be able to get to the fridge to pack/unpack on the street without slides out.

The current short list includes the Montana High Country 318RE, which we have looked at several times. Also the Grand Design Reflection 303RLS which we have not seen but looks about perfect (except for 15" wheels, which can be changed). The Crusader 290 or the longer 333MKS _might_ be on the list, but also we have not looked at them. We didn't like the feel of the Jayco, Wildcat, or Cruiser. The only Laredo has small gray tanks and would not be a move up from our Laredo. All the Heartland products are too long or too heavy. Something about the Open Range just didn't feel right.

We took a short trip a couple of weeks ago and went to an RV show and a dealer. That eliminated several models. We are planning a trip sometime in October, and hope to be able to find a Reflection within a couple hundred miles of home (Va Beach) to look at. Actually hope to look at a Reflection up near DC, and also visit the Air & Space Museum at Dulles, then head south along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Didn't take any time to look when we spent a week in Central NY this summer, were busy visiting family. Where in Upstate do you live?

  • 2hams,

    I am near Albany.

I just looked for Grand Design Reflection in stock nearby. No dealer within 180 miles has any.

    I want (must have):
    < 33'length
    < 1600 # pin weight (ideal is <1300#)
room for two recliners facing the TV
    larger tanks
    bed or wardrobe slide

I would like (nice to have):
    60x80 bed

My short list (on paper, I have not seen in person):
Prime Time Crusader 290RLT and 295RST
    Wildcat 282RKX
    Wildcat 272RLX
    Grand Design Reflection 303RLS

    Good luck in your search!

  • 290RLT has regular queen sized bed. No feet hanging over!!!
  • Thanks portliz for the info.

Looks like I can keep Prime Time Crusader on my short list.

One serious concern though is the wear on the slide out underside several people have posted about - click here.

There are some eye opening picture on page 5 and elsewhere.

RV Guy (Prime Time Management) addressed, on 9/1 page 7, the type of slide floors and coverings used in the various models and slide out types.

I am watching for the solution.

  • Thanks for the link. Also on my short list with concerns about the slide issue.
  • We have a 2012 290RLT that we bought newabout a year and a half ago ours has a 60"x74" bed. so far no problems with slideouts. The carpet looks like it might not last as long as some others in the price range.

ouch, I looked at the FR thread on the slides tearing and that is not too good at all. I am looking hard at the crusader 335bhs and this is giving me serious pause now
