We are shopping for a fifth wheel of about 31' to 33 1/2' length. To each his own, but we also do NOT want any curb side slides.
This for two reasons:
1) like OP, we use and enjoy the living area on the curb side, plus with a curb side slide, it leaves you with a smaller awning as well as smaller outside living area.
2) The Nat'l and State parks we camp in -- in some of the sites, it would be difficult to fit with slides extended both sides.
Our solution to maximizing interior space while avoiding curb side slides is finding units in the length we want with deep and very wide slides on the driver's side. We are particularly attracted to units with an exceptionally long bedroom slide as well as a wide and deep living area slide.
