- TravlingmanExplorer IIThanks for all the input. I ordered a Curt Q25 yesterday.
- Dutch___DiExplorerWe've used a Curt on our Dodge since 2014 & now on our 2017. It works great.
In 2014 we were having trouble getting it latched, which was frustrating but a trip to a Dodge dealer as we were traveling thru Idaho solved the issue. The locking "jaws" were off so he ordered a new one and it has worked perfectly every since. something you might want to check into. Hugs, DiLIKE2BUILD wrote:

Love it but it can be a pain to get latched,
Never had an issue getting mine latched. I always leave the 5er pin box a little lower than the hitch plate as I hook up. As I back up to it the pin box slides up the plate and compresses the truck suspension a little. When the hitch pin makes contact with the jaws I hear a clank and I'm locked in. No fuss, no muss.
I once did have a small issue unhitching. I had backed into a spot slightly up hill and left pretty fair pressure against the jaws. I had to let the truck rock forward just a little then the jaws released.
KJ - Gib3633ExplorerI was looking at the Q24 for the puck system for the new GMC and Curt was the only one found and probably the reason endorsed by GM. upon closer inspection I was looking at the jaws and closed they look about 5/8 inch thick . However if you look at the inside of the jaws where contact is being made with the king pin the contact is 3/16 inch thick. I feel has to create an early wear factor on the king pin.
The 20000 lb. B&W has jaw contact of 1 1/8 inch on the inside contacting the pin. B&W are not yet producing anything heavier than 20000 lb. at this time for puck system GMC only RAM.
I suppose if I were delivering trailers for a living I wouldn't be overly concerned
After these discoveries my 20,000 lb. Reese with jaws 1 inch outside and 5/8 inside looked pretty good and I just purchased the adaptors from Pullrite to convert puck system to regular fifth wheel hitch. If they become unsatisfactory possibly B&W will have their heavier hitch available for GM - LIKE2BUILDExplorer

We have a Curt 16k, love it, never a problem hitching or unhitching, I looked at B&w didn't like the setup (pull handle to high when hitched)so we went with a Curt which the handle swing down when hitched on the 16k
Huh??? The handle is NOT high. Not sure you are talking about a B&W. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

Looking at getting a Curt Q25 hitch for a Ford with bed prep. For those with a Curt hitch, how do you like them?
Ask the same question about the B&W.
Don't have too. Already have a B&W and looking at a Curt for my new truck.
Cost the reason? If u already have a B&W you know how easily they hitch n unhitched.
B&W rated at 20K, next RV might be heavier than that. Curt SAE certified, B&W says nothing in their literature that they are.
Like I said compare them side by side. Two bolts holding head on each side with Curt n four on each side of the B&W. B&W rates to the lowest component.
A call to B&W to se how they rate may be in order.
I would use a 20k B&W before a 25k Curt any day to tow my 23k RV. - alaska511ExplorerI have the 16K Curt w/ slider, and I will likely change it.
Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with it, at all, and it hitches solid the first time, every time.
The trailer just weighs more than advertised, and I want to get an airride hitch in the bed. I don't need the slider, it was a waste. - ChuckV1ExplorerWe have a Curt 16k, love it, never a problem hitching or unhitching, I looked at B&w didn't like the setup (pull handle to high when hitched)so we went with a Curt which the handle swing down when hitched on the 16k

There are certainly great hitches out there besides B&W ,have had Reese hitches that have served me well. I am sure Curt will do the same. No need for a B&W . - JIMNLINExplorer III

OP I'll repost your question.
Looks like another hijack by the usual same culprits from the B&W crowd with a slick lead in by one owner and the others jumping in the hijack.
I don't have a Curt hitch however I see the Q20 and Q25 are prefered by haulers over other rv brand hitches on a couple of commercial forums I frequent.
Might also check on other rv websites with your Curt hitch question.
