Curt or Reese Fifth Wheel Hitch & Why
The application is for a 2016 Chev 3500 DRW 8' bed without the factory puck system. Hitch needs to be easily removeable, leaving a clean bed. I am leaning towards the Reese 26.5 with 6625 pin weight...

You can't beat the Reese jaw system. And the Elite series features are nice. I assume you will go with the rail mounting system, since you don't have the OEM mount. Removal doesn't get much easier than the rail system. No tools required.
I'm certain the Curt is fine too. The only issues are always user mistakes.
