Cushions for Dinette

Hello,

First time RV owner. Just picked up a 2008 Keystone 310 SRX Toyhauler. I really like it except for the seat cushions and back cushions around the dinette. I work on the laptop quite a bit and need something fairly comfortable. Also, the cushions move around to much and I am always fixing them putting them back in place. I hate them. Are there any places that specialize in making new ones that are designed better with comfort? Here is a picture.

  • You can have a "Foam shop" replace the foam with much higher quality material. We did that on our last TT and it made a huge difference. Since it's a petroleum product, it aint cheap.
  • There are several online companies that make those, just search for seat cushion on your search engine. The foam comes in a number of different firmness ratings too. I checked with a local company and they were way more expensive and not very interested in doing the job either.
  • Any good upholstery shop can do it. A very good seamstress with a good sewing machine can make new ones. Go to a good fabric shop and they will have any type foam you need. Many of the original cushions have a zipper in one side to remove the foam for washing. If so, just get some new foam and have at it. Hobby Lobby probably carries it, but I haven't checked recently.
  • We got new foam for our cushions. We ended up choosing memory foam. I would NOT choose that again.

They can be re-foamed and or recovered, or totally made from new.
Ours, from the factory have Velcro sewn to the back side of the cushions and Velcro on the plywood. They stay put.

  • My cushions have velco to keep them in place. If you don't want to spend the money on new foam you can buy chair cushions or even a couch pillow and use that.
  • I've bought foam repeatedly from The Foam Factory. Review here.

To fix the sliding issue, we spray glued some shelf liner down onto the plywood base under the cushion. It fixed it nicely.

Depending on how long you work on your laptop (I work 8-12 hours a day from my rig at my computer), you might look at adding a coccyx pillow.
