A friend is looking for a custom built 5th wheel. He is tall and so needs to be able sleep in the main lower area. DW will sleep in the usual place. He needs it to weigh no more than 5000 lb and somewhere about mid 20's long Anyone know of companies that might build something like that?

A customized 5er weighing no more than 5K...WOW...It would HAVE to be....IF he HAS to sleep in lower are due to his height, he could just get a custom made couch that makes a bed for him to be located in the lower area of a lighter 5er manufactured by Allen or Scamp ....Not too many at 20' and only 5K, and I'm "assuming that is GVW of the 5er, not "dry" or "empty" weight??

How tall is he? My bedroom in my 5th is shorter than I am, but I've never considered not using the bedroom, I just "duck".Why not look for a fiver with a rear bedroom?

Don't even worry about the bedroom. When you find any 5th wheel with four walls and a roof that weighs 5000lbs let us know.

Has your friend considered a travel trailer. The bedroom ceiling height would be consistent throughout.The queen or king bed in the bedroom could be replaced.
